EMC Information

Anything may be engraved on your medical jewelry provided that space allows. The order of our suggested engraving format would be:

1) First and Last Name

2) Date of Birth (DOB)

3) Medical Conditions

4) Life Threatening Medications (i.e. blood thinners)

5) Allergic to: _____________

6) Emergency Contacts (ICE: name, phone)

When placing your order our Engraving Preview tool will show you how your engraved message will appear on your medical jewelry.

Engraving your name on your medical ID is a personal preference but we recommend that at least your first name is included. In an emergency, emergency responders will say a person’s name to get their attention and check for responsiveness. We recommend that all Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other mentally compromised patients engrave their name and address or contact information of a friend, caregiver or family member.

List only those medical conditions that would be important in an emergency. For example, a minor surgery that took place several years ago may no longer be relevant to your current medical care.

List only medicines you wish to be engraved. Generally, this would be prescription medicine, taken on a long-term daily basis which are unlikely to change. You may wish to list the most important medicines first.

List only those allergies which are severe and can cause a life threatening event.

Space is limited, so summarize your information with short, descriptive words. We provide Emergency Medical Cards with every purchase that can include as much detail as you would like.

    5 out of 5 Life-saving Product!

In October 2015 I unknowingly developed painless internal hemorrhage and passed out while riding my motorcycle at about 40 mph. I regained partial consciousness in the ambulance. In the hospital ICU the staff was able to access my entire medical history via the USB from my Universal Medical Data bracelet. They knew the details of my medical history as well as current medications, and were able to treat me accordingly. Maybe most important of all they also knew that I am exquisitely allergic to the drug amiodarone.

I happen to be a retired surgeon who has treated many an unconscious trauma patient. How nice it would have been if any of my patients had a such a bracelet so that I’d know his or her medical history, rather than guessing or anxiously waiting around in the dark to see what new problems would develop if I failed to give them a medication they were using.

I really like the idea of having 2GB of space to put important medical information. I am able to put alot of medication information in small place. I am able to put the most detrimental issues I have on the plate and also tell EMS that there is so much more information on the USB. I have shown this to my local EMS unit and they love the idea of this product and would like to s

Check with your hospitals. In have not found one that can actually access my flash drive to view my information. EMS did not have a problem and was able to give the information to hospital.

Thank you for your comments. Depending upon the particular hospital’s policies it may be that they will not access unknown USB’s in their computer systems for fear of a virus. This is an individual hospital policy and certainly DOES NOT apply to all. If you review what our customers are saying you will find many instances where a hospital’s access to this technology has been a life-saver for our customers. We always recommend that you include our custom engraved acrylic plate or dog tag which states you most critical medical information that will be needed in an emergency. Having this as well is an excellent option for any EMS to quickly and easily read the information that is most important to you.

5 out of 5 Great product

    Bruce M.

I bought this for my dad. Works great. Couple of things to keep in mind. Dad loves it and shows it to his friends. This is adorable. However, he is unable to get it on and off by himself. I’m not sure if this is a dexterity issue or a cognitive processing issue (same issue with the car seat belt), but be aware that you may need to help them get it on and off. The USB chip is counter-intuitive. It inserts into your USB port upside down. This is a wonderful product and allows you to load large amounts of medical data (I have it in both Excel and pdf formats) easily. He can shower with it on, and the nurses are helpful in removing it before x-rays, etc. Updating the files is quite literally a drag and drop process that takes a couple of seconds on your home computer. It is nice that you can custom engrave the medications onto the chip that comes with it. It makes my father feel safer, and for that I am grateful.

Great product and excellent customer service from Universal Medial Data. The online medical card information was a little buggy when filling out medications, but everything else worked like a charm. I have a very small wrist, and the bracelet was easy to cut down to size and reattach the clasps. It’s also comfortable and light – I rarely notice it. Very pleased with my purchase.

    PIERRE S.

Great product, received in time. Allows you to fill out your medical info to be engraved as soon as I purchase it, right on the page when you select to buy it.. It is easy to clasp, I have a small wrist and chose to wear as a lose bracket so no trimming for me. Pull the engravments and USB from back side was not a problem. I’ve worn it swinging in a salt pool and showered without any issues. It’s also nice looking bracket.

Great product! I bought this for my husband, who has a defibrillator implant and takes many medications, for information in case of an accident.Contains a usb that is easy to use to enter all necessary information and can also be easily printed. The bracelet is comfortable to wear but the clasp is a little hard to get used to at first, but overall my husband is very satisfied with it!

  19. Carolyn R.

5 out of 5 I like everything about this product but the clip that holds it shut.

    Carolyn R.

Waterproof USB got my attention, followed closely by 10 engraving lines. The usb part and the engraved part both fit into the same place, and will NOT fall out, and they were hard to pull out, so I tied 8-lb. monofilament fishing line thru the holes at the end of each, so there was a little circle pull cord to make it easier to pull them out. Silicone is nice and flexible. The clip that holds the two ends of the silicone for the band that snaps together is not all that comfortable on my wrist. As a result, I wear the EMT symbol on the inside of my wrist because that part is less irritating to my inner wrist area. My clip came apart differently than what the printed material described and its photos.

    Jake N.

Easy to enter data, ability to update when needed, comfortable to wear, engraved plate is a nice feature. Can be adjusted by cutting band but once cut it cannot be lengthened. Tends to turn inside out when removing clothing or during sleep. Is difficult to unbuckle.

2 out of 5 Bulky and Large, USB and Plate Difficult to Get Out

    Angela M.

Not quite what I expected. The top of the bracelet is *very bulky* and even if I were to cut it down to a smaller size (which would take more work than indicated on the description, and something I’m not sure I can do properly), it would be too big for my wrist. The pocket with engraved plate and USB is too tight to get either out without some sort of tool to grab it and pull it out. It is marked well though and has room for ample words on engraved plate. I’d suggest looking at other USB products from this company as the idea is nice and some others look nice but would not recommend this bracelet, unless you want discomfort and the awkwardness of it drawing everyone’s eye to this when they see you and meet you. It’s just too bulky not to draw attention and feel awkward. It’s too expensive with expensive shipping to be such a disappointment from what I was expecting.

This band does the trick, but turns inside out easily, which can be irritating and can tear any delicate clothes. On the plus side, I’ve submerged the USB in hot water, showered with it, etc, and it seems to be fine.
