Engraving Tips
I'm not sure how my medical jewelry should be engraved, what do I do?
No need to worry, upon completing your order our Preview Engraving tool and this Engraving Assistant will guide you through the proper steps while showing you how your engraved message will appear on your medical jewelry.
List only those medical conditions, allergies and medications that would be important in an emergency. For example, a minor surgery that took place several years ago may no longer be relevant to your current medical care. Space is limited, so summarize your information with short, descriptive words.
Is it necessary to put my name on my medical alert item?
Engraving your name on your medical ID is a personal preference but we recommend that at least your first name is included. In an emergency, emergency responders will say a person’s name to get their attention and check for responsiveness. We recommend that all Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other mentally compromised patients engrave their name and address or contact information of a friend, caregiver or family member.
Should I engrave my medications on my medical jewelry?
Due to limited space and the permanency of engraving we do not generally recommend that medications are engraved on your medical jewelry.
Should I engrave my allergies on my medical jewelry?
Engraving your drug, food and insect allergies will provide medical responders better guidance on how to initiate treatment and lessen the chance of a drug interaction. However, engraving space is limited by the size of the jewelry piece you have ordered. List only those allergies you wish to be engraved. Generally, this would be those with the most severe allergic reactions first.
